Aluminium Doors
Selecting the right aluminium door system is as critical as your choice of window. With doors, functionality needs to be considered carefully.
- Is the doorway a major thoroughfare that will experience high usage?
- Is the door a feature in a room, or does it carry an external theme?
- Does the door need to be insect or security screened?
- Will the large glass area provide an issue with thermal insulation, solar heat gain and is double glazing required?
Sliding Doors
Sliding doors like sliding windows, are practical and functional. They can be manufactured in a variety of configurations from one sliding door up to a series of multi stacking panels. They can also be manufactured in a bi-parting configuration where the two middle panels of a four panel unit open exposing a large open area.
Several options are available for aluminium sliding doors from standard sills to cyclonic rated sills and even low rise sills for wheelchair access.
Hinged/French Doors
Hinged doors are hinged on the side and open in the same way timber doors do. They perform well in applications where there is space available to accommodate the open door. Aluminium Hinged or French Doors can open in or out, with or without a sill for weatherproofing. For a more traditional look hinged doors can be manufactured with colonial bars.
Bifold Doors
Bifold doors are extremely popular in today's house designs. Multiple door leaves neatly fold back on each other and stack like a concertina.
Bifold doors enable an entire wall to be opened allowing full access. They are quite often used to merge inside and outside areas. Aluminium Bifold doors have excellent weather performance and can be adapted for hostile conditions with the inclusion of sill adaptors. Sill options are available to provide a flush appearance but need to be used in areas sheltered from the weather.
